Nonadiabatic observables of early-type pulsating stars Jadwiga Daszynska We present the new diagnostic diagrams for identification of pulsational mode, in the case of beta Cephei variables. These diagrams contain the amplitudes and phases of various oscillating line parameters, which we call spectroscopic nonadiabatic observables. With the purpose of this we calculate the time series of Si III 4552.6 A line profiles using results of linear nonadiabatic calculations for unstable beta Cephei models of Dziembowski & Pamyatnykh (1993). We discuss the evolutionary effect on this method as well as the influence of the inclination angle, the amplitude of the radius variation and rotational velocity of the star. We show that, all unstable models are grouped in domains assigned by different l and m values. Especially, we can unambiguous determine by means of these diagrams the value and sign of the azimuthal order, m. References:
