The Amazing X-ray Binary GRS 1915+105 Dr. Andrea Martocchia
GRS 1915+105 is a well-studied X-ray binary and a
"microquasar" showing
radio jets with apparent superluminal velocities. New results will be
summarized, giving particular emphasis to the data recently collected
by X- and gamma-ray satellites. The estimates of the compact object
mass as well as some properties of the source X-ray spectrum indicate
that a black hole is hosted in the core. However, detailed modelling of
its variability, spectral features and accretion/ejection phenomena is
a non-trivial task that leaves us with open questions. Vladimir Karas |
